How FCL-X Works
The main solvents present in battery electrolytes consist of alkyl carbonates, as well as lithium salts of phosphorus and fluorine. In the event of pressure relief, the flash point of the electrolyte is so low that the electrolyte vapor in the spray can ignite simply due to friction of the expanding gas through the explosion-proof relief valve. When heated, volatile toxic fluorine and phosphorus gases can be emitted from the electrolyte, along with carbon monoxide and methane.
FCL-X is a non-hazardous fire extinguishing agent.
FCL-X is a water-based proprietary solution that extinguishes and eliminates re-ignition of lithium-ion cells and/or batteries.
FCL-X requires minimal clean-up related to its use.
The Full Circle Lithium Facility in Georgia is able to recycle residue from the lithium-ion battery fire – offering a truly FULL CIRCLE SOLUTION.

Testing Validation
Protocol developed to replicate current industry standards for lithium-ion battery propagation testing as well as fire suppression certification testing outlined in UL 9540A 4th edition and UL 711 8th edition.
Three separate tests focused on different scenarios and environments to ensure reliability and versatility.
Result
Quick & Environmentally Safe
Positive test results and feedback from firefighting professionals.
FCL-X agent was “orders of magnitude” faster in extinguishing lithium-ion battery fires, used considerably less agent, and limited the toxic smoke generated by these fires.
